Community Hub

Adelaide Place Community Hub aims to enhance our ability to serve the city-centre of Glasgow through community and creativity. Our theme is the light of renewal which symbolises visibility, presence and a hope that overcomes darkness.

After a completed renovation project in 2023 enabling the building to be more versatile and inviting, the Hub was established at the beginning of 2024 with a passion to provide a creative space accessible to those most in need. Rest-Chat-Work-Connect encompasses our aim to provide a welcoming space for differing needs within the city. The Hub currently consists of a weekly community café, an art gallery, and a clothes bank, with further developments in the pipeline. Have a look at what’s on and come along!

As we seek funding and partnerships, the next phase of developing the Hub in 2025 and beyond aims to provide support for:

  • those facing isolation and loneliness

  • those who experience homelessness and struggles with addiction

  • employability and language skills

  • mental health and well-being

If you are a guest who would like to know more about what we have going on and how you can get involved, or if you are a partner who would like to work with us on community engagement and development, please email here or pop along to the cafe on a Tuesday and ask for Suzy.

Community Cafe

Tuesdays 10:30 - 13:30

Every Tuesday we run a community café, everyone is welcome to drop in, whether to work, meet a friend or just have a sit down and relax! Tea and coffee is free, with a selection of snacks/hot food available for a small price. If you fancy a chat, our lovely volunteers would love to sit with you, or if you fancy seeing what other people have got up to in the café before you, check out our Café Creative Journal.

A_Place Gallery

A contemporary art gallery with a programme focussed on artists local to or with a strong connection with Glasgow. Visit the gallery website here for information on when exhibitions are on and for opening times.

A_Place Clothes

A response to a felt need in our city, we are currently working with Glasgow City Mission to establish a dignified place for those in need of good quality clothes to come and find what they need (other partners welcome to become a referer).

“Very glad I came, great stuff and staff great!”
“It’s been good, the cafe is lovely and good selection of clothes, thank you.”

ESOL Classes

We are partnering with ESOL Scotland (formerly Glasgow ESOL Forum) to provide English language classes and help those who are new to the city. We have recently started a 10 week beginner's class on a Tuesday morning alongside our Community Cafe. If you know anyone who would like to be added to the waiting list, please help them to fill in this form. If you spot our new learners in the cafe, please say hi and make them feel welcome and help them to practise their English!
